Vitamin D deficiency is common in asian women living in countries that have minimal sun. A strict vegan diet and milk allergy can also be a contributing factor to vitamin D deficiency. 

This can lead to rickets, a bone tissue disease leading to soft bones and deformities of the skeleton framework. A problem that never rectifies.

Causes

Lack of exposure to sun can cause Vitamin D deficiency. It is the sun that is required to formulate vitamin D. Known as the sunlight vitamin, it is important for healthy bones. 

Risks

If vitamin D is not topped up in the form of a vitamin supplement, then it can lead to rickets. Other side effects related to vitamin D deficiency are regularly getting infected or sick, increased fatigue, back pain, depression, bone loss, hair loss and muscle pain.
